Since McCaffrey was drafted with the number 8 overall pick in 2017 he has lived up to the hype cementing himself as an elite running back. Notching up over 5800 yards and 45 touchdowns.
Christian McCaffrey came out of Stanford with elite levels of athleticism passed down to him through his parents Ed McCaffrey, a 13 year NFL WR mainly with Denver. His mother Lisa Sime as also a college-level multi-sport athlete.
After reading all of the above you would be forgiven for thinking what on earth is he doing on the list, well unfortunately McCaffrey was bitten hard by the injury bug last season only managing 3 games. He still managed to notch 6 touchdowns impressively.
When injury and at his best, he is arguably the best running back in the league, a threat every time he gets on the field to go over 200 yards from scrimmage whether it is running the ball or catching the ball in the backfield.
If Christian can recapture his form of previous years he could be pushing the coveted stat line of 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving, a feat he accomplished in 2019. The only other 2 players to do this was Marshall Faulk in 1999 with the Rams and Roger Craig with the 49ers in 1985.
A Christain McCaffrey 2000 yards plus season coming off a year out injured would put him in prime position for the Comeback Player of The Year Award.
